By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a reported assault involving a woman and her former partner in Dangriga.
According to the report, the woman arrived home around 10:20pm on Saturday with her current partner when her former partner approached and asked her to go with him.
She refused but agreed to speak with him beside his vehicle.
The woman told police that during the conversation, the man grabbed her left hand, but she managed to pull away.
She also reported that her iPhone 14 Pro Max was taken during the incident and fell to the ground. The phone was later handed to her son, but she noticed a crack in the upper-right corner of the screen.
The complainant said she and the man had been in a relationship for about a year and a half before separating in February 2026.
Police were contacted following the incident and she later made a formal report at the Dangriga Police Station.
She told police she does not wish to pursue court action but wants officers to speak with the man.
Efforts to locate him were unsuccessful.
The matter remains under investigation.
