By Belize Live News Staff: A 26 year old labourer of San Jose Village is pending charges following a confrontation with police at a public event in Orange Walk Town.
Police say officers were on duty at the Fiesta FM 22nd Anniversary event at the junction of Queen Victoria Avenue and South Park Street around 11:30pm on Saturday when a man approached a sergeant.
According to the report, the man addressed the officer aggressively and made a profane remark about having just come out of jail. He was cautioned and asked by another officer to leave the area, which he did peacefully.
Around 12:05am on Sunday, officers conducted a search of the man at Central Park and found a small pocket knife measuring approximately two inches.
Following the search, police say he walked about ten steps away, raised his chest toward one officer, then walked toward the sergeant and pushed him with his left elbow.
He then made a threat that somebody would be killed that day.
Manuel Guardado was cautioned and placed under arrest for using indecent words and aggravated assault. He is pending charges.
