Hot inland, choppy offshore as winds increase across Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: Anyone heading out on the water today should take note.

The National Meteorological Service says winds are up to 10 to 20 knots from the east to southeast, with seas running from a light chop to choppy and waves of 2 to 5 feet. That is a noticeable step up from the calm conditions earlier this week.

On land it stays hot and settled. Sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today, partly cloudy tonight, and only isolated showers. Southern Toledo has a low chance of a few more late tonight.

Temperatures hold high at 96 degrees Fahrenheit inland, 91 on the coast and 84 in the hills.

Monday looks mainly fair through the day before a few showers and thunderstorms move over coastal and southern areas Monday night.

No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the region during the next 48 hours.
