By Belize Live News Staff: The fourth named storm of the Atlantic season has formed, and it is a long way from here.
Tropical Storm Dolly was located about 1,145 miles east of the Leeward Islands at 3am, moving west at 24 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.
The National Meteorological Service says the system poses no threat to Belize.
Closer to home, the weather is behaving. Today brings sunshine with a few cloudy spells and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers and thunderstorms stay isolated, though the south has a medium chance of seeing a few more after dark.
Temperatures reach 94 degrees Fahrenheit inland, 89 on the coast and 80 in the hills.
The water is a different story. Seas are choppy with waves of 3 to 5 feet and easterly winds at 10 to 15 knots, so boaters should take care.
Saturday turns cloudier at times with a low chance of showers over southern and coastal areas in the morning.
