By Belize Live News Staff: A 51 year old manager of Caye Caulker Village has made a report of aggravated assault following a confrontation outside a restaurant on Crocodile Street.
According to the report, the manager was speaking with customers and co workers outside his workplace around 5pm on Tuesday when he noticed a man he has known for one to two years seated on a golf cart in front of the business.
He said he approached the man in a respectable manner and asked him to leave before any problems started.
The man, who was drinking from a glass beer bottle, stood up face to face with him and swung the bottle at his face. The manager said he moved quickly to avoid being struck, pushed the man on the shoulder, put him in a choke hold and took the bottle away before letting him go.
Minutes later he saw the man walking toward the establishment holding a silver knife about five inches long.
The manager, a licensed firearm holder, retrieved and loaded his 9mm, placed it on the bar counter and warned the man off. He said he never pointed the weapon at anyone.
