Nephew charged after stones fly in Guinea Grass family clash

By Belize Live News Staff: A Friday night in Guinea Grass Village ended with two people hurt and a young man on the run from police.

A 44 year old domestic told police she stepped outside her home around 8pm and found her own nephew chasing her son in law through the area, hurling large rocks. The younger man made it into her yard.

She said she shouted at her nephew to stop. Instead he turned on her, threatened her life, and threw a stone that caught her on the left hand. Another stone struck her son in law on the left knee.

She told police he appeared to have been drinking or using drugs. A lamppost in front of the house gave both of them a clear view of who was throwing.

Police went looking for him the next evening and found him at a wooden structure. He tried to slip out the back door but was caught.

Jelsner Justin Itzab, 19, a construction worker of the village, has been charged with harm upon both.
