By Belize Live News Staff: A man who cannot walk had nowhere to go when a machete came down on him in San Jose Village on Sunday night.
Police say the 43 year old was making his way home in his wheelchair around 9:45pm, passing in front of a church on the Philip Goldson Highway, when someone called out his name.
He turned around. Standing there was a man he had known for over 20 years, in a black shirt and red shorts, with a machete in each hand.
What followed left him with two cut wounds to the head, one at the back and one above his right ear, and bruises to his left wrist.
Neighbours came running and the attacker fled. An ambulance carried the injured man to the Northern Regional Hospital, where a doctor certified his injuries as wounding.
He told police the lamp posts were bright and he knew exactly who it was.
William Suchete of San Jose Village is now wanted by police.
