By Belize Live News Staff: Everything costs more on the caye. The freight sees to that, and islanders have made peace with it. Which is exactly why this one deserves attention: Western Dairies has cut its case prices on the San Pedro delivery trucks, and the numbers read like mainland prices or better.
Low fat milk leads the charge, from $54.00 down to $32.40 for a case of 12, a full 40 percent off, working out to $2.70 a bag. Light milk falls to $24.96 a case, whole milk to $54.84. The smoothies the kids fight over come along too: chocolate down to $37.32 and original to $24.96 per case of 12.
The fine print matters. These prices are valid only at WD’s San Pedro delivery trucks, and only for a limited time. Not the mainland depots, not indefinitely. Island only, while it lasts.
For the shop owner, that is cooler stock at prices that leave room to earn. For the household, that is the cereal, the coffee and the school thermos covered by the case instead of the expensive bag-by-bag habit.
Flag down your route truck, San Pedro, and buy like the deal ends soon, because it does. Tag an islander who runs a shop or a full fridge.
