By Belize Live News Staff: Big news for everyone whose living depends on visitors, and everyone with family in the States. BermudAir is launching nonstop flights to Belize City from five US airports this winter: Boston, Raleigh-Durham, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Sanford and Tampa Bay’s St. Petersburg-Clearwater, and the airline says it will be the only nonstop option from all five.
The fares are the headline. One way from US$164 out of Tampa Bay, US$184 from Orlando-Sanford, with Fort Lauderdale starting October 26 and the rest by late December, all running deep into May. That prices Belize as a long-weekend decision, not a once-a-year splurge. ✈️
Two routes deserve special attention. Boston and Raleigh-Durham are winter-weary cities full of travelers with vacation budgets, and come December they get a straight shot to the reef. Expect them in San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Placencia and Cayo all high season.
The other winners are Belizeans abroad. Family in Florida, New England or North Carolina just got cheaper, easier flights home for Christmas and Easter.
Hoteliers, tour guides, restaurants, taxi operators: five new pipelines of visitors open right as high season starts. Time to get the pages updated and the packages ready.
