By Belize Live News Staff: He walked out the door at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, headed for the basketball court like any other evening. He has not come home since, and an Orange Walk mother is asking all of Belize to help find her son.
The Belize Police Department reports that 33-year-old Albert Joseph Johnston of Orange Walk Town left his home on Monday, July 27, 2026, bound for a sports center on Aurora Street to play basketball. By Tuesday evening, with no word and no sign of him, his mother made the report every parent dreads.
Her fear carries an added weight. Johnston lives with bipolar disorder, and he left without his medication, meaning the hours matter and the family’s worry grows with each one. If you see him, meet him with calm and kindness, and call the police.
Here is who to look for. Albert is of Hispanic descent, slim, about 6 feet tall, with brown eyes. A large cross is tattooed on his left upper arm, and two stars on his abdomen. He was last seen in a black sleeveless shirt, dark blue short pants, black tennis shoes, and a blue cap with a bull image.
Police have circulated his description and searched through the night into Wednesday morning without success, which is exactly why the public’s eyes are now the search party. The court he never reached, the streets between, a bus stop, a shop veranda, a village road, someone has crossed paths with him.
