According to the Belize Police Department, on Friday, July 3, 2026, at around 9:00 a.m., officers on foot patrol along Bethias Lane had their attention drawn to a man. Police approached, identified themselves, and informed him that a search would be conducted for illegal drugs, firearms, or ammunition.
During the search, officers said they retrieved a silver steel pipe used for smoking controlled drugs from the man’s front pocket. He was informed of the offence, cautioned, and advised of his constitutional rights.
At the Orange Walk Police Station, the man was identified as 35-year-old Francisco Aragon, a labourer of Orange Walk Town. Police said the pipe, measuring three inches in length, was sealed and labelled as evidence.
Aragon was subsequently charged with possession of a utensil for smoking controlled drugs. He chose to remain silent.
As with any matter, Aragon is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
