By Belize Live News Staff: The cost of a staple on many Belizean tables is going up, with the Belize Poultry Association announcing a price adjustment for poultry that takes effect on Monday, July 6, 2026.
In a press release, the Association explained that the increase comes as a result of the high prices of key inputs on the market. These include grains like corn and soybean, along with fuel and premixes, all of which have been weighing on the industry.
The Association stated that the price of whole chicken is being adjusted by 12 cents per pound. It added that the prices of other poultry products will also go up, varying according to the specific cuts or processed items.
Describing the move as necessary given the current cost of inputs, the Association thanked the public for their ongoing support of the local industry.
Anyone with questions about the new prices is invited to contact the Belize Poultry Association at 822-3221 or 615-9694.
