By Belize Live News Staff: It is shaping up to be a warm and largely pleasant day across Belize, but keep an umbrella handy, as showers are set to build along the coast as the day goes on.
The National Meteorological Service reports that a moderate, moist, and somewhat unstable airflow is in place. Skies will be sunny with cloudy intervals today, turning cloudy at times overnight. Any shower activity will be isolated to start, before a few showers and possible isolated thunderstorms develop, mainly along coastal areas, during the afternoon and evening.
It will be a warm one, particularly inland, where temperatures are expected to peak at 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) before dipping to 74 (23 Celsius). Along the coast, highs will reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) with a low of 82 (28 Celsius), while the hills stay more comfortable, topping out at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and falling to 68 (20 Celsius).
Out on the water, winds will blow from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots, with choppy seas and waves of 3 to 6 feet.
There is reassuring news on the tropical side, with no tropical cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours.
The outlook for Tuesday and Tuesday night calls for cloudy skies at times, with shower activity isolated at first before gradually increasing.
