Man charged over unlicensed motorcycle in Orange Walk

By Belize Live News Staff: A routine police patrol in the Orange Walk District has ended with a young delivery man facing a pair of traffic charges.

According to the Belize Police Department, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at about 11:30 a.m., officers patrolling along Palmar Road in San Jose Palmar Nuevo Village signalled a man on a black motorcycle to pull over, and he complied. When asked, the rider produced his driver’s license and was identified as 18-year-old Keiron Blair, a delivery man of Orange Walk District.

On inspecting the motorcycle, officers said they found that the insurance disc had expired, and the rider could not produce a valid license sticker for the vehicle. He was cautioned, advised of his rights, and taken into custody.

Police informed Blair that he had committed the offences of using an unlicensed motor vehicle and using a motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance. He was charged accordingly, granted police bail of $300, and opted to remain silent.

It is worth noting that Blair, like anyone facing a charge, is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty before the court.
