By Belize Live News Staff: A brazen overnight burglary at an Orange Walk restaurant and bar was captured on the establishment’s own security cameras, after a thief broke straight through a wall to get inside.
The Belize Police Department reports that the owner of the business, located in the Petville area of Orange Walk Town, was alerted by a worker on Sunday, June 28, 2026, that the place had been damaged and ransacked. When she arrived, she reportedly found a large hole in the PVC wall on the north side of the building, just behind the counter, where someone had forced their way in.
Inside, the owner said the premises had been turned over. A plastic bottle holding $1,400 in cash, kept near the cash register, was gone, along with another $150 from the register. With $250 in damage to the building, the total loss came to roughly $1,550.
According to police, the owner checked her cameras and saw footage of a man breaking through the wall in the early hours of the morning, entering the business, and ransacking it before making off with the money.
After recording a statement and receiving a request for court action, police identified a person of interest they are looking to speak with. The investigation continues.
