Belize starts the week under cloudy skies as rain chances linger

By Belize Live News Staff: The new week is beginning with a mix of clouds, sunshine, and the possibility of showers as a moist and unstable weather pattern continues to influence conditions across Belize.

According to the National Meteorological Service, Monday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies with occasional sunny breaks, while a few showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop, particularly across inland communities and southern districts.

While some areas may experience brief periods of rainfall, forecasters do not expect widespread or prolonged rain. Shower activity is expected to taper off later this afternoon before increasing again tonight, mainly over southern Belize.

Temperatures will remain comfortable compared to the intense heat experienced in recent weeks. Coastal areas are expected to reach highs of around 88 degrees Fahrenheit, while inland communities could see temperatures climb to about 93 degrees.

The weather pattern is being driven by lingering moisture in the atmosphere, creating favorable conditions for cloud development and scattered rainfall.

Residents in districts such as Stann Creek, Toledo, and parts of Cayo are more likely to experience passing showers during the day and evening hours.

The forecast for Tuesday remains similar, with cloudy spells and isolated showers expected, especially across southern Belize.

Meanwhile, forecasters say there is no immediate tropical threat to Belize, with tropical cyclone formation not expected anywhere in the region during the next 48 hours.

For commuters, farmers, and those planning outdoor activities, the advice is simple: enjoy the cooler temperatures, but keep an umbrella nearby just in case the clouds decide to open up.
