By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is preparing to welcome hundreds of regional and international delegates after being confirmed as the host country for the Caribbean Development Bank’s 57th Annual Meeting in June 2027.
The announcement was made as Belize officially assumed the rotating Chairmanship of the CDB Board of Governors during the conclusion of the bank’s annual gathering in Nassau.
The dual achievement places Belize in a highly visible leadership position within the Caribbean development community.
The country last held the chairmanship and hosted the annual meeting more than three decades ago in May 1994.
Hosting the event is expected to bring government officials, financial leaders, development experts and representatives from international institutions to Belize for discussions on economic growth, climate resilience, infrastructure development and regional cooperation.
The meeting will also provide Belize with an opportunity to showcase its tourism industry, investment opportunities and development achievements to a regional and international audience.
With Dr. Osmond Martinez accepting the chairmanship on behalf of Prime Minister John Briceño, Belize now takes on a leading role in helping shape the future direction of Caribbean development policy and cooperation.
The announcement is being viewed as a significant diplomatic and economic accomplishment for the country as it continues expanding its influence within regional organizations.
