Santander says sustainability remains at the heart of its operations

By Belize Live News Staff: Santander Sugar Group has announced the successful renewal of its VIVE Certification for 2026, a milestone the company says reflects its deep commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.

VIVE Certification is recognized internationally as a benchmark for sustainability, requiring organizations to meet standards related to environmental protection, ethical operations, worker wellbeing, traceability and responsible resource management.

For Santander, the certification renewal demonstrates that sustainability continues to guide decision-making throughout the organization.

The company emphasized that responsible agriculture is not simply a corporate objective but an ongoing commitment that influences everything from field operations and production processes to community engagement and environmental protection initiatives.

Officials say the achievement is the result of teamwork across every level of the organization and serves as recognition of the efforts being made daily by employees, contractors and business partners.

The renewal also comes at a time when consumers and international markets are increasingly demanding products that are produced responsibly and sustainably.

Santander says maintaining VIVE Certification helps ensure the company remains aligned with global best practices while contributing positively to Belize’s economy and environment.

Looking ahead, the company has pledged to continue strengthening its sustainability efforts and helping build a more resilient and environmentally responsible future for Belize.

“Together, we grow responsibly. Together, we build sustainability. Together, we are Santander,” the company stated.
