Man critically injured in stabbing near international airport

By Belize Live News Staff: A construction worker is hospitalized following a violent stabbing incident near the Philip Goldson International Airport in Ladyville.

Police report that 35-year-old Nelson Rene Rosa Ramirez sustained multiple stab wounds during an altercation with his uncle at a construction site where both men reportedly worked and lived.

Following the incident, officers searched the compound and later discovered the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Elmer Ramirez, hiding inside a drain. Authorities say he was detained at the scene.

Scene of Crime personnel processed the area and collected evidence, including blood samples, as investigations continue.

Police say the matter remains under active investigation.
