By Belize Live News Staff: Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) reported today that there were no power system losses during the passage of Hurricane Beryl, which made landfall over the Yucatán Peninsula late last night. The company extended its sympathies to communities in the Caribbean and Mexico affected by the storm.

Following the all-clear announcement by the National Emergency Management Organization this morning, BEL reaffirmed its commitment to hurricane preparedness and vigilance throughout the hurricane season.

The company emphasized the importance of vegetation management in preventing power interruptions during storms. Customers are encouraged to report dangerous trees near power lines using the BEL 24-7 App, calling the toll-free number 0-800-BEL-CARE, or messaging BEL on Facebook.

BEL expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation and reiterated its dedication to providing safe and reliable services to customers nationwide.
