Police impound vehicle linked to Jamir Cambranes case

By Belize Live News Staff: Police have confirmed that a Chevy Equinox believed to be linked to the death of 19-year-old Jamir Cambranes has been impounded as investigations intensify.

According to ASP Stacy Smith, the investigation began shortly after 1:56 a.m. on Wednesday when officers were alerted to the discovery of Cambranes’ body along the Boom/Hattieville Road. Police responded to the scene and confirmed the report.

Investigators say Cambranes had left his Belize City residence earlier that evening to visit acquaintances. Concern grew when calls from family members went unanswered, prompting authorities to track his phone. That effort led them to the location where his body was found.

Police processed the scene and reported recovering items of evidential value. The vehicle believed to be involved has since been located, impounded, and is undergoing forensic examination.

Authorities are now actively searching for two suspects and have launched an operation aimed at bringing them into custody.
