By Belize Live News Staff: Opposition Leader Tracy Taegar Panton says the government must outline clear measures to address the impact of rising fuel prices on Belizean households.
In her statement, Panton warned that increases in fuel prices affect multiple sectors of the economy, including transportation, food distribution, and production.
She said these increases ultimately drive up the overall cost of living for families across the country.
Panton also suggested that the government should consider policy measures previously proposed by the current administration when it sat in opposition, including reducing the fuel intake tax by at least two dollars per gallon.
She argued that many Belizean families are already struggling with daily expenses and need relief from rising energy costs.
Panton concluded that Belizeans deserve transparency, accountability, and leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people.
