Three women injured in head-on crash near Santana Village

Driver admits fault in early morning highway crash

By Belize Live News Staff: Three women were injured Saturday afternoon following a traffic accident near a curve in Santana Village.

Police say the collision occurred around 3:00 p.m. and involved a burgundy pickup and a black Dodge Dakota pickup.

Investigations reveal that the driver of the burgundy pickup was traveling toward Corozalito Village when he encountered a parked vehicle and an oncoming Bowen and Bowen truck. In attempting to avoid a collision, his vehicle struck the parked pickup.

The impact caused damage to both vehicles.

Three female passengers who were in the pan of the burgundy pickup were transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. Their injuries were described as minor, including scrapes and complaints of pain.

Police have informed Scenes of Crime and investigations continue.
