By Belize Live News Staff: A man was taken into custody Sunday evening after being found intoxicated in front of a supermarket in Trial Farm Village.
Police on patrol around 6:40 p.m. noticed the individual sitting on the ground along the Phillip Goldson Highway. He was reportedly asleep and holding a partially consumed bottle of rum.
After being awakened, he appeared unsteady on his feet and had difficulty speaking clearly.
He was transported to the Trial Farm Police Sub-Station, where custody procedures were completed. He was reportedly unable to sign documents due to his condition.
