By Belize Live News Staff: Thirteen Belizean chefs have reached a major professional milestone after successfully completing an internationally recognized culinary certification programme under the American Culinary Federation (ACF).
The programme, facilitated by the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) through its Elevate Training Institute (ETI), was launched in August 2025 and brought together culinary professionals from across the country. Participants underwent months of intensive training that included mentorship, online instruction, and both theoretical and practical preparation for ACF examinations.
A Culinary Certification Handover Ceremony was held at the Grand Resort & Residences in Belize City, where chefs were recognized at multiple certification levels, including Certified Sous Chef, Certified Chef de Cuisine, and Certified Executive Chef.
Officials say the achievement reflects Belize’s growing commitment to culinary excellence and its push to align local talent with international standards.
