Chain cut, but thieves fail to steal motorcycle in Belmopan

By  Belize Live News Staff: A Belmopan woman is appealing to the public for assistance after two individuals reportedly attempted to steal her motorcycle during the early hours of the morning.

According to the resident, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the suspects targeted her motorcycle, which was secured with a chain and padlock. She said the individuals appeared prepared and managed to break the chain.

However, despite cutting the chain, the suspects were unable to take the motorcycle because the handle was also locked. The resident said the individuals were reportedly trying to figure out how to unlock the handle when she turned on a light, causing them to flee the area immediately.

The matter was reported to police, and the resident is now urging anyone in Belmopan who may recognize the individuals or has information that can assist in identifying them to come forward.

She is also encouraging residents to share the information to help police locate the suspects.
