In a press release issued on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Council made it clear that the Mayor and Councillors do not condone the actions of an employee who was reportedly involved in the theft of funds from a child at a local business establishment.
The Council described the incident as deeply troubling and completely unacceptable, noting that the alleged behavior runs contrary to the values, ethics, and standards expected of all City Council employees. Emphasis was placed on the seriousness of the matter, particularly because it involved harm to a child.
According to the release, administrative and disciplinary measures are being pursued in line with established procedures. While specific details were not disclosed, the Council assured the public that the matter is being addressed with urgency and accountability.
