From Belmopan to the U.S. Navy, Belizean woman rises through the ranks

By Belize Live News Staff: A Belizean national serving in the United States Navy has achieved a major career milestone.

Sherrion Robinson, originally from Belmopan, Belize, was recently advanced in rank to petty officer first class while serving at the Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Robinson attended Belmopan Comprehensive High School before migrating to the United States in 2010, where she later completed high school in New York. She joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 and has now served for 11 years.

Currently working as a logistics specialist, Robinson plays a critical role in supporting Navy medical operations. She credits her resilience, upbringing, and determination for helping her overcome challenges, including homelessness during her teenage years.

Robinson says her naval service has given her stability, purpose, and the opportunity to build a better future, while continuing to make her family and Belize proud.
