19-year-old formally charged in brewery boots theft case

By Belize Live News Staff: A theft investigation in Carmelita Village, Orange Walk has resulted in the arrest and charging of a 19-year-old construction worker.

Police say the incident was reported by management of the Caribbean International Brewery Company Limited after a pair of boots went missing from the premises. Following investigations, police conducted a formal interview with the suspect.

Authorities report that while under caution, the suspect admitted to taking the boots. He was subsequently arrested and charged with theft.

Police confirm that after being cautioned a second time, the accused declined to make any further statement. The case is expected to proceed through the judicial system.
