By Belize Live News Staff: A traffic accident in the Orange Walk District has resulted in criminal charges against a local resident following police investigations.
Authorities say the accused was formally arrested and charged on Thursday in relation to a crash that occurred the day before. The charges include driving under the influence, careless driving, operating an unlicensed vehicle, and negligent wounding.
Police say the matter has now moved to the courts. The accused was granted bail and is scheduled to answer to the charges at the Magistrate’s Court later this month.
Police continue to remind motorists of the dangers of driving under the influence and the serious legal consequences that can follow traffic-related offences.
