By Belize Live News Staff: A delivery run ended in tragedy Wednesday evening when Mark Gabourel was fatally shot during an apparent robbery in Belmopan. The incident occurred on Mountain View Boulevard at peak traffic hours as he was driving a Caribbean Chicken delivery truck.
According to initial information, the victim attempted to protect himself by locking the vehicle when confronted by robbers. The attackers responded by firing several shots through the truck window, critically injuring him. He was transported to the Western Regional Hospital but later died from his injuries.
The shooting has sparked renewed concern over violent crime targeting delivery drivers. Police are appealing to the public for information that may assist in identifying those responsible.
