Post-mortem findings released in Cayo motorcycle fatality

Rider charged after being stopped without lights or helmet

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities have confirmed that Suemy Lizeth Esmeralda Chi, who lost her life following a motorcycle accident, died from severe head and spinal injuries.

Police say a post-mortem examination was conducted on Friday morning at the Ladyville Medical Clinic. The examination determined that Chi sustained fatal blunt force trauma to the head, leading to acute traumatic injuries to the cranial and spinal regions.

The procedure was witnessed by a police officer and photographed by Scenes of Crime personnel. A family member identified the body before the examination was carried out.

Medical findings classified the death as resulting from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
