Fight outside shop ends with injury and smashed car

Rider charged after being stopped without lights or helmet

Police are continuing investigations into a violent altercation that occurred on December 28, 2025, in San Pablo Village, Orange Walk District, which resulted in property damage and injuries.

Initial reports indicate that a fight broke out around 5:13 p.m. in front of a Chinese shop between Tazo Calles and Israel Vasquez, 23 years. The confrontation was reportedly broken up by Elio Cawich.

Following the incident, Vasquez reportedly informed his brother, who later drove to San Pablo and went to Mr. Cawich’s residence. There, the vehicle allegedly crashed into the rear of Mr. Cawich’s parked car. Shortly after, bottles were thrown at Mr. Cawich and Calles, causing damage to Mr. Cawich’s vehicle, including the windshield and windows.

During the altercation, Israel Vasquez sustained injuries to his nose and was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital, where he was treated and later released. Police investigations remain ongoing.
