Moist and unstable conditions continue; showers expected across Belize today

Excessive rainfall watch in effect for northern Belize as wet weather builds

By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service reports that relatively moist and somewhat unstable conditions remain over the country today, supporting periods of sunshine along with cloudy spells.

A few showers or light rain, with a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm, are expected mainly offshore and along some coastal areas this morning. By afternoon, shower activity is forecast to move inland before redeveloping tonight along coastal and offshore areas.

Winds will blow from the north to northeast at 5 to 10 knots, creating slight to light-chop sea conditions with waves of 1 to 4 feet.

Temperatures will reach 84°F along the coast, 86°F inland, and 77°F in the hills.

The extended outlook for Friday and Friday night calls for cloudy periods with a few showers or isolated thunderstorms, especially along the coast and northern areas in the morning and over inland areas in the afternoon. Nighttime showers will be isolated, with a medium chance of a few developing along the coast.
