Dangriga man charged for riding without helmet, license, or insurance

Check Point

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are reminding motorists to keep their documents up to date following a traffic arrest made in Dangriga on Sunday.

While conducting a routine patrol on Lakeland Avenue shortly before 1:00 p.m., officers stopped a man riding a motorcycle without a helmet. The rider failed to produce a driver’s license or learner’s permit when requested.

Checks made by police revealed that the SkyGo SG-125 motorcycle was operating with both expired insurance and an expired vehicle license.

The rider, identified as Trevan Eric Valerio, 21, was later charged for multiple traffic offences, including driving without a Belize driver’s license, using a motor vehicle not covered by third-party insurance, and driving an unlicensed motor vehicle.

Police continue to encourage all motorists to ensure their documents, insurance, and safety gear are in compliance with national traffic laws.
