Belize weather forecast: Moist and unstable conditions to bring showers and thunderstorms

By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service reports that moist and relatively unstable conditions continue to prevail over the country. Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies with cloudy spells, becoming mostly cloudy tonight. Some showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms are expected around the country throughout today and tonight, with increased activity over inland and northern areas this afternoon and along coastal areas later tonight.

Over the sea, winds will blow from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots and seas will be light chop to choppy with waves between 2 and 5 feet. Temperatures today will reach highs of 85°F along the coast, 86°F inland, and 78°F in the hills. Tonight’s lows are forecast at 75°F on the coast, 68°F inland, and 64°F in the hills.

Conditions on Tuesday will remain mostly cloudy with periods of light to moderate rain, along with a few showers or isolated thunderstorms developing across the country. Rainfall activity is expected to decrease Tuesday night, lingering mainly along coastal areas before gradually becoming isolated.

Low tide this morning occurred at 7:09 a.m. and will be followed by a high tide at 1:13 p.m. Another low tide is expected at 6:04 p.m., with the next high tide occurring at 12:26 a.m. tomorrow. The sun rose at 6:11 a.m. and will set at 5:18 p.m. The moon will set at 9:53 a.m. and rise again at 9:26 p.m.
