Female passenger suffers internal bleeding and skull fracture in highway crash

By Belize Live News Staff: A woman was seriously injured following a road traffic accident on Sunday evening, November 9th, 2025, near Mile 4 on the Hummingbird Highway in the Stann Creek District.

According to police reports, around 5:20 p.m., officers responded to the scene where they observed a black Lifan 125 motorcycle, driven by Shawn Anthony Nadario, 33, an ice factory worker of 2nd New Site Area, Dangriga Town, with damages to the tail light and back tire.

Also involved was a Bashan motorcycle bearing license plate #SCM0121, driven by Kenroy Winston Smith, 21, a laborer of Pomona New Site, who had 19-year-old student Nieomi Angela Vinula as his passenger. The Bashan motorcycle sustained a broken headlight in the collision.

All three individuals were transported to the Southern Regional Hospital for medical attention. Police say Vinula was later diagnosed with internal bleeding and a cracked skull, and around 7:59 p.m. she was transported to Belize City for further treatment.

Both Nadario and Smith were treated and released from the hospital.

Police have since processed the scene and are continuing investigations into the incident.
