By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating an attempted murder following a late-night shooting in Unitedville Village, Cayo District, that left a 38-year-old construction worker hospitalized.
The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, when Kevin Trapp was reportedly ambushed while returning home. According to police, two men emerged from a dark area, and one of them ran toward Trapp’s vehicle, opening fire multiple times.
Trapp sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital by a family member. He remains in stable condition.
Police responded shortly after receiving reports of shots fired and are now conducting an investigation. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but authorities believe it may have been a targeted attack.
