BTL CEO Ivan Tesucum placed on 10-day leave following Board decision

BTL CEO Ivan Tesucum placed on 10-day leave following Board decision

By Belize Live News Staff: The Board of Directors of Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL) has placed Chief Executive Officer Ivan Tesucum on 10 working days of leave, effective immediately.

According to an internal Employee Bulletin issued today by BTL’s Human Resources Department, the decision follows a complaint filed against Tesucum that was reviewed by a disciplinary committee appointed by the Board.

The committee received evidence from both Tesucum and the complainant and found that the specific complaint filed was not established in accordance with the law. However, the Board addressed a related matter that warranted disciplinary action and, after considering Tesucum’s response, decided to place him on leave in accordance with due process.

Tesucum is expected to return to work on Friday, November 14, 2025.

The bulletin urged all employees to cooperate with the leadership team during the CEO’s absence and upon his return to duty.
