By Belize Live News Staff: A short while ago, a massive fire broke out in Seine Bight Village on the Placencia Peninsula, Southern Belize. Residents captured videos showing thick smoke and flames engulfing a wooden structure as villagers and firefighters raced to contain the blaze.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire spread quickly due to strong winds and nearby wooden homes. Villagers joined the firefighting effort, using buckets of water in an attempt to prevent further destruction.
No injuries have been reported at this time, but the property damage appears significant. Firefighters are still on the scene working to fully extinguish the blaze and determine what caused it.
Authorities are urging residents to stay clear of the area as emergency responders continue their work.
