Belize to see fair weather with occasional coastal showers

Unsettled weather continues into Christmas night

By Belize Live News Staff: Thursday’s weather will be mostly warm and fair across Belize, with occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms developing along coastal and southern areas.

The National Meteorological Service says a moist northeasterly airflow remains in place, keeping the atmosphere slightly unstable. Showers are likely during the early morning and night, while inland areas could experience brief afternoon thunderstorms.

Winds will range from north to northeast at 5–15 knots, and the sea state will be light chop to choppy, with waves between 2 and 5 feet.

Daytime highs are forecasted at 91°F inland, 87°F on the coast, and 81°F in the hills, cooling down tonight to the low 70s.

Tropical Storm Melissa continues to move northwest across the central Caribbean with sustained winds of 50 mph. The system remains no immediate threat to Belize, but forecasters are keeping a close watch.
