Hopkins’ Hamanasi Resort marks 25 years of eco-friendly hospitality

By Belize Live News Staff: Hamanasi Resort is proudly celebrating its 25th anniversary, reflecting on its transformation from a small eco-lodge in 2000 to one of Belize’s leading sustainable resorts today.

Founded with the mission to create meaningful travel experiences that connect guests with Belizean nature and culture, Hamanasi has since become a model for regenerative tourism. The resort has expanded its team to 187 members, many from nearby Hopkins Village, and continues to play a major role in the local economy.

Through its environmental programs, Hamanasi has planted trees, repurposed materials, and supported community projects that preserve Belize’s natural heritage. Its efforts have earned numerous accolades and positioned it as a pioneer in sustainable hospitality across the region.

Guests and staff recently joined in celebration of the milestone, with music by Titiman Flores adding a Belizean touch to the festivities.

“None of this would be possible without our guests and our team,” Hamanasi shared. “This anniversary is a celebration of community, conservation, and collaboration.”

As Belize’s tourism industry continues to evolve, Hamanasi’s 25-year journey stands as a powerful reminder that sustainability is not just a trend, it’s a legacy.
