By Belize Live News Staff: The Institute of Archaeology has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Derrel Montero, a dedicated Park Ranger who served at the Nohoch Ch’een Archaeological Reserve.
In an official statement, the Institute shared:
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management, and Staff of the Institute of Archaeology, we extend our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Derrel Montero, a dedicated Park Ranger who served with commitment and pride at the Nohoch Ch’een Archaeological Reserve.”
Mr. Montero’s life was cut short on October 17th, 2025. He will be remembered for his service, professionalism, and devotion to protecting Belize’s cultural and natural heritage.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
