Minister Mahler strengthens Belize–Mexico ties through tourism and sports collaboration

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize and Mexico are exploring new opportunities for regional partnership as Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler, held a series of productive meetings with key Mexican officials this week. Joined by CEO Nicole Usher and Ambassador Oscar Arnold, the delegation discussed joint strategies to boost tourism, sports development, and aviation links between the two nations.

Minister Mahler met with Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Lic. Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City, Lic. Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, and the President of the Mexican Cycling Union, Lic. Bernaldo de la Garza. The talks covered a range of initiatives including cross-border tourism marketing, enhanced air connectivity, and potential collaborations in cycling and other sports exchanges that could position Belize as a growing hub for sports tourism in the region.

The visit also forms part of a wider engagement effort with Belizeans in Mexico, as the Ministry prepares for a major diaspora event in Mexico City on October 18. The Ministry extended appreciation to Ambassador Arnold and his team for their support in coordinating this important diplomatic and developmental mission.
