By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service says moist and somewhat unstable conditions continue to prevail across Belize, bringing mainly fair weather today but an increase in showers and thunderstorms later tonight.
Forecaster Crystal Rosalez reports that skies will be sunny with a few cloudy spells during the day and cloudy at times tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will be generally isolated, with slightly more activity inland this afternoon and a gradual increase over the north and coastal regions tonight.
At sea, winds will be light from the east at 0–10 knots, and seas will remain slight, with waves of 1–3 feet.
Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 88°F (31°C) along the coast, 92°F (33°C) inland, and 80°F (27°C) in the hills. Tonight, temperatures will fall to 76°F (24°C) on the coast, 73°F (23°C) inland, and 68°F (20°C) in the hills.
The tropical weather outlook shows Tropical Storm Jerry, located about 570 miles east-southeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, moving west-northwest at 20 mph with sustained winds of 65 mph. The system poses no threat to Belize.
The outlook for Friday calls for cloudy skies with a few showers and thunderstorms, mainly over the north during the day and over most areas by night.
