Gun violence claims life of security guard at Belize City high school

By Belize Live News Staff: A security guard was found dead inside his security booth at Sadie Vernon Technical High School in Belize City early this morning.

According to police, a male individual reported the incident to the Mahogany Street Police Station around 7:30 a.m., leading officers to the scene. Upon arrival, police observed what appeared to be three bullet holes in the booth. After forcing entry, they discovered the unresponsive guard lying on a table with a pool of blood beneath him.

Three 9mm shells and one slug were recovered from the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting occurred during the early morning hours. The identity of the victim has not been released.

The school’s main entrance has been locked off as police investigate the incident.
