Tyler Robinson, 22, arrested in connection with Charlie Kirk assassination

By Belize Live News Staff: Officials in Utah have confirmed that Tyler Robinson, 22, has been arrested in connection with the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was gunned down on Wednesday at Utah Valley University.

Robinson was reportedly taken into custody Thursday night near St. George, Utah, after his father alerted Police. According to investigators, Robinson admitted to his father that he was responsible for the shooting. His father then restrained him and waited until law enforcement officers arrived.

The arrest occurred around 11:00 p.m., ending a tense statewide search. Law enforcement officials confirmed that Robinson is expected to be charged with capital murder, which carries the possibility of the death penalty.

During a press conference, federal and state officials emphasized that this case will be prosecuted at the highest level given the nature of the crime and its impact on public safety.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, has triggered widespread political reaction and debate across the United States. Investigators continue to piece together details surrounding the incident, including Robinson’s motive and whether he acted alone.
