Showers and thunderstorms expected tonight as moist conditions persist

By Belize Live News Staff: The country remains under the influence of moist and unstable conditions, which are expected to bring an increase in showers and isolated thunderstorms tonight.

The Belize Met Service says, “while today will see cloudy spells with passing showers, activity will increase later this evening and spread across most districts.”

Temperatures remain hot inland at 95°F (35°C) and cooler in the hills at 83°F (28°C). Coastal communities will see highs of 89°F (32°C). Seas are slight, with waves between 1 and 3 feet, making conditions favorable for small craft.

Tide tables show a high tide at 10:17 a.m., a low at 4:40 p.m., and another high at 10:31 p.m. The sun sets at 6:00 p.m. and rises tomorrow at 5:39 a.m.

The Met Service’s tropical weather outlook indicates no cyclone formation over the North Atlantic Basin within the next 48 hours. For Tuesday, forecasters expect showers and thunderstorms to continue, “gradually decreasing by night and affecting mainly southern Belize.”
