Belize establishes diplomatic presence in Guyana with new high commission

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize has formally inaugurated its High Commission in Guyana, marking a significant step in expanding its diplomatic network and strengthening ties with South America. The Belizean flag was raised at the chancellery in a ceremony attended by High Commissioner Gale Miller Garnett and members of the Belize Defence Force.

This move reflects Belize’s commitment to fostering bilateral relations with Guyana and enhancing its presence in the region. The new diplomatic mission aims to facilitate cooperation, trade, and cultural exchange between the two nations.

The High Commission, located in Georgetown, will serve as a hub for diplomatic activities and provide consular services to Belizean citizens in Guyana. It will also play a vital role in promoting Belize’s interests and fostering closer ties between the peoples of both countries.

The establishment of the High Commission underscores Belize’s proactive approach to international relations and its dedication to expanding its diplomatic reach. The move is expected to further bolster cooperation between Belize and Guyana in various areas, including trade, tourism, and sustainable development.
