By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is experiencing unsettled weather today as a tropical wave moves across the country, bringing showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
The National Meteorological Service reports cloudy skies with periods of rain and thunderstorms mainly over the north and central areas, with activity shifting to the south tonight. Conditions at sea will be choppy to rough, and waves will range between three and seven feet.
A small craft caution is in effect, and operators are urged to proceed carefully near areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Tropical Storm Erin remains far in the Atlantic and poses no immediate threat to Belize. Meanwhile, a tropical wave near the Yucatan Peninsula could develop once it reaches the Gulf of Mexico later this week.
Forecasters expect Thursday to bring mostly fair skies with only isolated showers or thunderstorms.
